The death toll from coronavirus climbed to 11 yesterday as California reported its first fatality, and the House of Representatives passed an $8.3bn bill to help fund containment efforts.Hallie Golden has been out and about in Seattle looking at what life is like in the Washington city at the centre of America’s outbreak. The state has seen 39 cases of the virus, with a total of 10 deaths.In the city’s downtown area on Wednesday, residents reported fewer people walking around, while some shops turned to cutting back on staffing in response to slow business. Local grocery stores have seen some of their shelves emptied, as residents look to stock up on essentials.
