Is it too late to join the witch hunt, jump on the bandwagon, succumb to the mass hysteria, swell the mob, sign up for the moral panic, add fervour to an atmosphere repeatedly described as “febrile” and thereby lose – in the still more popular phrase when prominent men pronounce on complaints about sexual misdemeanours that fell short of actual rape – all sense of proportion?I do hope not.
