As for the trip to Barnard Castle on 12 April, there is no credible justification for this.In these circumstances, as an absolute minimum, an apology should have been made and level of regret expressed. I am disappointed that Mr Cummings did neither.I have always said that politics is a team effort, not an individual one. Difficult times are ahead, which will require the Government to be able to deliver clear and credible public health messages.
