Pickford should not have been on the pitch to make his latest unconvincing contribution having forced Virgil van Dijk out of the game with a horrendous sixth-minute foul. VAR spared Everton a penalty on that occasion, and defeat later on when Sadio Mané was penalised for offside in the buildup to Henderson’s strike.
