Coronavirus UK: Cost of face masks to rise by a fifth as Treasury refuses to extend VAT holiday

Treasury officials have told retailers the six-month VAT holiday on PPE including face masks would come to an end on October 31 after waiving the 20 per cent UK tax in May.
