The Grenfell Tower inquiry has heard tributes to an incredible array of people, their journeys and achievements The most extraordinary thing was happening in a large, bland conference room in a west London hotel this week. Slowly, harrowingly, lovingly, life was being breathed back into the 72 people killed by the Grenfell Tower fire. One week into the inquiry, they are no longer a number – or an abstraction.
