Alaphilippe remains in the peloton, and in second. \u201cDo teams ever make deals in-running to help each other?\u201d asks Noel Fitzpatrick. \u201cMaybe if one has a GC candidate but no domestiques left, and the other has a good team but no one in the race for a jersey\/podium?\u201d Certainly riders chat during the race, and assist each other when there\u2019s mutual benefit. I\u2019m not sure about your example, and whether a team would help out someone else\u2019s rider simply because they don\u2019t have much else on, but most things that can happen have happened.
