He then says the US \u201cwill be the first nation to land on Mars\u201d before repeating his promise to defend the right to keep arms adding it\u2019s \u201cdamned nice\u201d to have guns when \u201clunatics\u201d are protesting on the streets. 2.45am BST Trump says \u201cthe plague\u201d has hurt the economy which was \u201cthe envy of the world\u201d but America is coming back. \u201cRetails sales: the greatest single numbers in history,\u201d he says. He then returns to blaming China for Covid-19 and he predicts the economy will come back in October as the election approaches. He says that progress will be hurt if the Democrats are elected, but if he wins next year will be \u201cthe greatest in history\u201d for the economy. Trump says he has saved \u201cmillions of lives\u201d during the pandemic and says it\u2019s now time \u201cto get back to work\u201d even though cases of Covid-19 are rising in many states.
