Parrado, one of the survivors of the 1972 plane crash in the Andes whose story was told in the 1993 movie Alive, had given his consent for the horse to be named after him.The two-year-old\u2019s trainer, Clive Cox, was asked on Wednesday whether Parrado knew of the success of the horse, who is now quoted in betting lists for next year\u2019s 2,000 Guineas. \u201cHe most certainly does,\u201d Cox said. \u201cI\u2019ve not spoken to him directly but I know the owners have, Paul and Marie McCarten.
