The violence is horrible.\u201dThe plea from a young woman arrives on a bank of screens in a basement office, loaned to the organisation in central London, where staff and volunteers operate a helpline for the youth homelessness charity Centrepoint. It\u2019s not exceptional: one in every 20 calls or emails are prompted by domestic abuse, another three in 20 by relationship breakdown.
