At about 2am, a lightning bolt hit the cathedral\u2019s south transept and started a fire that raged through the building, collapsing the roof and causing millions of pounds\u2019 worth of damage.\u201cI remember some people coming to the building in tears,\u201d he said. \u201cI didn\u2019t have that emotion.
